Harry STROHSCHEIN

STROHSCHEIN Harry Fred Born July 25, 1913 to Herman & Amelia Strohschein, on the family farm, west of Wetaskiwin. He attended Dundonald School, at rural Wetaskiwin, to grade 8. He studied motor mechanics at SAIT from 1934-1937, and attended Prophetic Bible Institute from 1938-1941. In February 1943 he reported for military training where he served as a medical orderly until April 1946 when he was discharged. On June 27, 1947 he married Verda Borchert of Leduc. They moved to Trochu where they farmed and lived until 2001 when they retired to Three Hills. In 2004 they moved to Red Deer where Harry lived at home until December 4, 2007 when he moved to Red Deer Nursing Home. He passed away peacefully on December 17, 2007. He is survived by his wife Verda of 60 years, children: Harold (Lois), Phyllis (Gordon) Diks, Ivan (Betty), Gloria (Shane) Wilson, Janet (Jean) Paquette, Lois (John) Mah, Lorna (Peter) Drinkwater, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law and many family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 1 brother-in-law, 1 sister-in-law. Memorial service to be held December 27, 2007 at Trochu Baptist Church 2:00 pm.
