Heather Yakimchuk

April 7, 2023
In loving memory~
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Heather Yakimchuk at the age of 98. She died peacefully on Good Friday, April 7th, at Grandview Capital Care in Edmonton. Heather was born in Newton Stewart, Scotland. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and grew up on a farm west of Penhold. Heather was a lover of animals. As a youngster she had many pets, including dogs and horses. On beautiful summer days she would often ride her horse, Princess, from her Penhold farm to Sylvan Lake. Heather eventually married and raised her family in Red Deer. She and her husband Chuck were involved in the early years of Central Alberta Theatre and the Red Deer Golf and Country Club. She loved swimming and golfing, but above all, Heather loved her family. Heather is predeceased by her husband, Chuck, and sons-in-law Brian Oldring and Tase Lyrintzis. She is survived by four daughters: Sandi Bradshaw (Bill), Jane Oldring, Suzanne Lyrintzis, and Chris Stephenson (Brian). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. We will be celebrating Heather’s life at 1:00 on June 16th at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.
