COOP, Hedy COOP

Hedy Coop (Quarg) passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on December 13, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Hedwig Elisabeth Buegler was born in Bern, Switzerland and after being educated in Europe and learning several languages fluently, she moved to Ghana, Africa to marry Kurt Quarg. After W.W. II ended, Hedy immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughter, moving to Red Deer in 1951. Kurt passed away in 1963 and in 1965 Hedy married John Coop. They lived several years in Uranium City, Saskatchewan and later retired back to Red Deer. When John passed away in 1998, Hedy moved into Parkvale Lodge until her recent illness. She is survived by her daughter, Eva (Grant) Walker, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Hedy is also survived by her stepsons; Anthony (Margaret) Coop and John Jr. (Evelyn) Coop, one stepdaughter, Marlene Harrison, four step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews living in Germany. As per Hedy's request there will be a private, family, Graveside Service with a Memorial Service to follow in January.
