September 19, 1934 - June 30, 2018
With great sorrow we announce that Lotty, age 83, passed away on the evening of June 30 at Lacombe Long Term Care. She was surrounded by people who love her, as was the case wherever she went.

Lotty was born September 19, 1934 in Edmonton but grew up with her homesteader parents, Adolphe and Adele Schoch, on the west side of the Red Deer River, upstream from Fort Normandeau. The river provided seasonal challenges in getting to school, just one of the many hardships Lotty faced during her life with courage and commitment. She was strong and decisive - soft in the centre.

Lotty married her neighbor, George Ninkovich, in 1955. Together, they successfully managed the risks and trials of mixed farming in the Shady Nook district while they raised their four kids who will miss her immensely:  Joan Cook and her daughters Jana and Julie; David (Gale) and his three girls Shyla, Sarah, and Shanna; Donna Layden and her daughters Mandi and Steph; Karen Ninkovich (Dave) and her son Josh. Together, they have nine precious great grandchildren.

Lotty is also survived by her brother-in-law, Lance Ninkovich, and her "sister"-in-law Bev, their three girls, as well as the Belich and Roth families. Lotty was predeceased by George in 2003 and her parents in 1959, when they were killed in a motor vehicle accident, brother-in-law Don Ninkovich in 1985, as well as by many great friends.

Funeral Service will be held, Friday, July 6, 2018 at Cross Roads Church, 381050 Range Road 275 at 11 AM, followed by lunch at the church. Subsequent to that, all are invited to interment at the Red Deer Cemetery. If you desire, we welcome donations to the Alzheimer's Society #1, 5550 45 street, Red Deer, Alberta.
