SLIWA Helen Sliwa of Red Deer passed away on January 5, 2005 at the age of 91 years. Helen was born April 6, 1913. Helen moved to Red Deer and lived with her daughter Leona and son-in-law Ron for the past 10 years. Predeceased by her husband, John in 1982; son, Ed in 1999; and granddaughter Karen’s husband, Nickoloas in 2004; her parents and 7 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by son, Ernie of Edmonton; daughter, Leona (Ron) Korchinski of Red Deer; 7 grandchildren, Bonnie (Lee) Oliver, Jeff (Brandi) Sliwa all of Edmonton, Brian (Cathy) Korchinski of Ponoka, Brent Korchinski of Fort McMurray, Karen Xekominos of Toronto, Monica Sliwa and Debra and Kirk Kozakewich all of Edmonton; 8 great granchildren, Melissa and Miranda Oliver of Edmonton, Matthew, Braedon and Katelynn Korchinski of Ponoka, Hope Sliwa of Edmonton, Pericles Xekominos of Toronto and Daniel Kozakewich of Edmonton. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Red Deer, Friday, January 7 at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place on Monday, January 10, in Canora, Saskatchewan.
