Helen WIGGINS

WIGGINS Helen passed away at Bethany Collegeside on March 19th, 2008. Helen was born in Huxley to Lorne and Alice McComb and grew up on the family farm in the Huxley district. Helen received her early education in Huxley and graduated from the Red Deer High School. After attending Normal School in Calgary, Helen substitute taught at Glennellen for a short time. She then went to work at the Red Deer Creamery where she met her future husband. She married Keith Wiggins on June 19, 1939 and moved to the Shady Nook District where she and Keith raised their five children Glenda (Edward) Knight, San Marcos, CA, Jill (William) Edgar, Lorne (Jackie), Red Deer, Cliff (Pat), Bentley, and Kerry (Susan), Shady Nook. Keith passed away on May 11, 1973. She is survived by her children, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Bette Hoppins, Red Deer, and Beatrice Mackey, Kent, WA, and one brother Lorne, Kent, WA. Helen was a dedicated volunteer in the community and also at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. At Helen’s request, there will be no funeral. Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on Unit 2A for all your care and support during mom’s stay.
