Peacefully Helga passed away at the Hamlets in Red Deer County on April 23, 2022.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 yrs Klaas Bakker in July 2011.
Cherished by her daughter Beatrix and son Andy (Lorette).
Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Ingun, Dagmar, Jack, Christopher, Nils, Peter and their partners.
Proud great-grandmother of Dakotah, Hunter, Olivia, Charlotte, Abagail, Avery, Sophia, Femke, Emily, Lia, Karsten, Norah, Teagan.
Also, sadly missed by sisters-in-law Pietje, Annie, Corrie and Afke, brother-in-law Bokke, nieces and nephews, especially Barbara DeJong, extended family and friends.
Mom was born in Germany. Mom, Dad and I moved to the Netherlands in 1946 and Mom, Dad and Andy emigrated to Ontario in 1968.
In January 2020 she moved to the Hamlets in Red Deer County, where she spent the last 2 years of her life. She never regretted that move, she loved living at the Hamlets.
We want to thank the Staff, Caregivers, and Homecare for their superb care of Mom and for keeping her in the room she loved so much. You all have our eternal gratitude.
Also, thanks to her friend Sheila Tiemans for her love and care.
Mom's interment was conducted privately.
Resting place: Alto Reste Cemetery.
