1919 - 2014

Mrs. Hilda Hamill of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully at The Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore, Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the age of 95 years. Hilda was born on May 26, 1919 at Eatonia, Saskatchewan. She grew up on a farm in the Zorra Area, the eldest of all her siblings. Hilda played a major role in raising her eleven younger brothers and sisters. In her mid twenties, Hilda moved to Winnipeg to start a life of her own. She followed employment and eventually made her way to Edmonton, Alberta, where she met her husband, James. The couple married and then raised their family and farmed near Penhold, Alberta. Hilda lived a long, happy and healthy life. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of all her family and dear friends. Hilda leaves to mourn her loss, her son, James (Charlene) Hamill of Red Deer and her daughter, Marie (Tom) Thrall of Okotoks, Alberta and her beloved grandchildren, Anthony and Alyssa Hamill and Laura and Scott Thrall. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Norman (Darlene) Kauk and two sisters, Julia Vipond and Hedy (Ben) Petersen and her sister-in-law, Peggy Hamill; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to come and pay their respects at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Jozef Wroblewski celebrant. Interment will follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Hilda's honor may be made directly to a Charity of the donor's choice.
