Howard HANSON

HANSON, Howard Jean April 5, 1933 - March 3, 2007 Howie passed away at his home on Saturday, March 3, 2007. Howie was an avid sportsman and excelled at golf, curling, pool, bowling and fastball. He worked most of his life in the oilfield, eventually retiring from his own company, Hanson Oilfield Construction. In his later years his love of landscaping on his farm consumed much of his time. Howie leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Connie Lock of Lacombe, his children, Barb Eklund (Kevin) of Red Deer, Howie Jr. of Lacombe and Marie (Steve) Hanson-Kentwell of Jilliby, Australia, his six grandchildren, Michael, Meghan, Halyn and Oliver, Hannah and Sam. He is also survived by his sisters, Juanita (Gordon) Westwood of Vancouver, B.C. and Louwayne Hanson of Scottsdale, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. Howie was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Josie, a sister, Marie Collett and a brother, Gordon Hanson. A Celebration of Howie's Life will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 5226 - 51 Avenue, Lacombe, Alberta on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations in Howie's honour may be made directly to Sports Equipment for Kids Foundation, 6766 Golden West Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta.
