HUMPHREY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Britton Humphrey on December 19th, 2008. Mike was born in Toronto, Ont. on January 2nd, 1953, the eldest of five children. He is survived by his loving parents, Agnes & Ted Humphrey of Burnaby, BC, three brothers, Pat, Chris (Jan), Ed and his only sister Toni (Jim), nieces Kelly, Leanne, Lori and nephew Jeff as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Mike spent many years working in the oilfields of Western Canada, and in more recent years had broadened his horizons and commenced working overseas, most lately in Yemen where his extensive experience served him well. During his "off" time, Mike resided in the Penhold area, enjoying the countryside, the small town atmosphere, and the many friends and acquaintances he acquired. Mike's passion in life was anything to do with motorcycles -preferably Harley Davidson and he loved nothing more than the wind in his face as he rode on a hot summer day. Mike appeared to have a rough exterior, but you didn't need to know him long before that exterior melted away to reveal a gentle, giant of a man with a kind, generous, heart of gold. He was loved and will be forever missed, but always remembered by his family, friends, co-workers, and all those whose lives crossed paths with his and who had the pleasure of knowing him.
