Inez Skaley

April 2, 1933 – February 6, 2023
In loving memory ~
Inez was born in Hanna, Alberta, to parents Emanuel Bender and Freda (Teske). By her mid-teens, along with her brother Stanley and sister Diane, the family moved to Gatsby. It was here that she eventually met and married Edgar Skaley. Children, Duane, Debie and Doyle were born here and they all established themselves very well in the community. In 1970, Inez, Edgar and the children moved to Red Deer, Alberta. For Inez, her achievements were many and varied. At Westerner Park, volunteering and/or managing in a wide variety of activities. In 2005, she was awarded the “volunteer of the year certificate. Inez also spent many years in the retail product demonstration business. Inez was one of if not the first in Alberta to do so. It was not very long until she established her own company. Her skill at baking and elaborately decorating ceremonial cakes (notably wedding + birthdays) became another response to business demand. Inez also acquired her license in security and investigation. She worked primarily in retail, and investigations which were periodically undercover.
Unfortunately, in 2004, her husband Edgar passed away, just 4 months following their 50th wedding anniversary. In 2010 she met and married Doug Baldwin, her current husband. Doug & Inez’s son Duane are extending an invitation to a celebration of life for Inez. Should you wish and, are able to attend, it will take place on June 24th in Stettler, Alta. The location is “The church of Jesus Christ of the latter-day saints 5906-40ave, from 1 to 3pm. From the celebration, we will be travelling, 20+ miles eastward on highway 11 to the Gadsby Omega Cemetary, located immediately alongside the highway. Here, we will place both Inez and Edgars remains to rest. Sympathies may be forwarded to Duane Skaley at 147 Allan St., Red Deer Alberta, T4R1E6.
