Irene KULYCH

July 29, 2009

KULYCH Irene Norah (Connell) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Irene on July 23, 2009. After a short illness she slipped from our lives with her family at her side. She was born November 10, 1935 in Edmonton to John and Ella Connell and was the fourth of nine children. After finishing her schooling in Edmonton, she met and married Marshal Kulych in 1957. They settled in Red Deer in 1962 to raise their four daughters. Irene took immense pride in the raising of her family and the building of an oilfield company with her husband. She loved singing, reading, flowers, gardening, traveling, puzzles, debating, Christmas, laughing and adventures with her daughters and grandchildren. Left to embrace her strength, courage and quirky sense of humor are Valerie (Larry) Larratt of Red Deer, Sharon (Tim) Timmons of Lacombe, Maureen (Jerry) Giles of Airdrie, Janice (Allan) Hough of Red Deer and their father Marshal Kulych. The sunshine of her days were any moments spent with her grandchildren; Brandi-Lee (Ken) Webber, Deana Hall, Tanya (Jamie) Gregory, Tara (Wade) Mosher, Janna (Craig) Dahl, Courtney Larratt; Christopher, Dulcie, Kelsie and Tayler Timmons; Brandon, Adam and Cory Giles; Jared and Cassandra Hough and 2 great grandchildren; Ava and Gabriel. Also left to mourn are her 7 siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Donald, son-in-law Sam Hall and grandchildren Amy Hall and Adam Larratt. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, AB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Red Deer Hospice, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB. T4R 3S6. Please remember to sign your organ donor cards.
