Irene Ruth Bye, born on June 9, 1922 in Hanna, Alberta to Wilhelm and Julianna Pahl, the youngest of fourteen children, went to be with her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, peacefully on December 28, 2011. Irene is survived by her son, Dwight; daughters, Janet (Peter) Murphy and Elaine (Bill) Proud; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Anne. Irene was a friend, companion and confidante to her contemporaries; an advisor, teacher and family heritage instructor to our adult and adolescent family members; and pirate, hobo, baker, tag-playing, ball-throwing and hide-and-seek queen to our young people and Gramma to all. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm in Delburne at the Delburne Gospel Church.
