Irene Smith of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the age of 93 years. Though Irene had lived for short periods in the Lacombe and Rimbey areas, she was born, raised, lived for the most part and passed away in Red Deer. Irene is survived by her sons Robert (Loree) Smith, Donald Smith; daughters Barb Smith, Betty Eide; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also to cherish Irene's memory is one sister and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She was predeceased by her husband Eithiel; son Sunny; granddaughter Rebecca Block; three brothers and two sisters. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, 4430 - Woodland Drive, Lacombe, Alberta on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the C.N.I.B., 4, 5015 - 48 St., Red Deer AB T4N 1S9.
