August 2, 1935 - August 10, 2018
Passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on August 10, 2018. Iris was predeceased by her husband, James Roddis, in 2006.
She leaves to mourn her daughter, Wendy (John) Arnold of Lethbridge; son, Murray (Bunnie) Roddis of Red Deer; grandsons, Scott Arnold of Vancouver and Michael Arnold (Victoria Casella) of Calgary; great grandchildren, Molly, Lincoln and Hazel Arnold of Calgary; sister, Vivian Sparrow of Sedgewick, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Iris was born to Jack and Eva Aitcheson in Killam, Alberta on August 2, 1935 and was raised on the family farm at Lougheed, Alberta. She attended Central High School in Sedgewick and graduated as a Registered Nurse from the University of Alberta in 1956.
Jim and Iris were married on September 19, 1956 and lived in several locations throughout Alberta, following Jim's career as a banker. Iris worked as public health nurse and in several hospitals throughout the province. Jim and Iris settled in Red Deer in 1987, where Iris has resided since.
A memorial service will be held at Eventide Funeral Home on Friday, August 17 at 1:00 PM. The family would like the thank Dr. Kruger and the staff of Unit 31 at the Red Deer Hospital for the exceptional care given to Iris.
