In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that the family of Iris Gwendolynne Oslanski (Larwill) of Red Deer, Alberta announces her sudden passing on January 12, 2022 at the age of 77 years.
Iris was born in Penticton, British Columbia on December 8, 1944, the second daughter and one of five children born to Ruby and Edward Larwill.
Her father was a pastor, and the family moved around a great deal in the early years, before settling more permanently in the Mirror/ Alix/Bashaw area.
After high school is when she would reacquaint with her future husband, Roy Oslanski, to whom she would remain happily married to for 39 years, until his passing in 2005.
Iris attended nursing school and began her career as a nurse's aide, all while raising her 3 children, until back surgeries caused her to make a career change. She then took a position in the finance department at the hospital and worked there until she retired.
Iris was fortunate to have her family close by, and she never missed an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments. She was incredibly proud of her children and adored her four grandchildren.
Her hobbies included gardening, spoiling her beloved pets, and spending time with family. Iris had a keen sense of humor, she loved to push the envelope with a joke or a story, just to get a reaction. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
Iris is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Troy of Red Deer, Shane and granddaughters Kaleah and Keyana of Edmonton, and her daughter, Tawnee (Braden) Kilpatrick and granddaughters Megan and Leah of Red Deer.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Shirley (Lloyd) Kohl, Judy (Jean) Kreiger and her two brothers Edward (Kaye) Larwill and Stirling (Susan) Larwill as well as many nieces, nephews from both sides of the family.
Iris was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her nephew.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, just a family gathering at a later date.
