It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Isabel Mason of Lacombe, AB on November 9, 2009 at the age of 82. Born January 3, 1927 in Winlaton, England, she was the beautiful daughter of the late Isabella and Willy (Cappy) Welsh. Isabel touched the hearts of many over her life with her soft British accent, her benevolent spirit, her gifts of delicious home baking and the many beautiful creations she would lovingly knit for her family and others. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a friend to all. The great love she had for her dogs Kelly, Shane and Kimo gave her many happy moments throughout the years. Isabel will be greatly missed by her beloved husband John of 63 years who gave her loving care in the comfort of their home as her illness progressed and became more difficult. Also, her sons Gary (Alison) of Edmonton and Paul (Bonnie) of Red Deer; grandchildren Bailey Mason, Erik Mason of Edmonton, Chris Mason (Courtney) Jon Mason (Louise) of Red Deer; great grandchildren Avery, Cade, Vaughn and Maddox Mason of Red Deer; her sister Elizabeth Welsh (Betty) will miss Isabel dearly, as well as Jeremy Irving (nephew), Kathleen Graham and Linda Dean (nieces), sister-in-law Lorna McGuire (Micky deceased), Kathleen Sanderson (niece) and Brian McGuire (nephew) all of England; Isabel is predeceased by her sisters Kathleen Irving (John), Marion Pearson (Walter), a brother, Billy Welsh (Sadie), a niece, Anne Elliot (Brian) and a nephew, David Pearson also all of England. The memorial service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M in the Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Lacombe. Interment will follow in the Lacombe Fairview Cemetery for the family only.
