SARGEANT
Mr. Ivan Malcolm Sargeant of the Northcott Health Care Center passed away on May 27, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Ivan was born on June 21st, 1914 in Medicine Hat, AB. He lived at Manyberries, Alberta. When Ivan was 4 years old, the family moved to Greenshields. Ivan married Hazel on November 17, 1938. They farmed in the Warburg district for 11 years raising five children. They then moved to Clive and Tees districts to farm for a while, and subsequently moved to Lacombe to take over Hazel's Dad's homestead. They bought more land and completed their family with three more children. In 1978 they retired and settled in Mirror. They then moved to Lacombe and back to Clive some time later. Ivan was a quiet man with much love for family, friends and faith. He enjoyed visits from them all and most times they were invited to meals at mealtime. Ivan is survived by Willis (Darlene) of Clive, Dale (Jean) of Alder Flats, Earl (Joan) of Lacombe, Lillian of Red Deer, Eldon (Gwen) of Edmonton, Gary (Laurene) of Bentley, Linda (Norman) Patterson of Valleyview, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, also step-grand, great and great great grandchildren, one brother Roy (Muriel) of Rimbey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ivan was predeceased by his wife Hazel, one son Warren, his mother Lillian and dad Guy, brothers Cecil and Parker, sisters Joy, Inez, Marguerite, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at the Lacombe Memorial Center, 5214-50 Ave., Lacombe Alberta on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Lacombe Fairview Cemetery.
