DOBLER

Ivan (Squeak)

1933 - 2014

Ivan Dobler of Red Deer passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the age of 81 years. Ivan was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin. He was passionate about hockey, whether watching games, coaching or referring. Ivan spent most of his working life in the electrical field and was well respected by the many fellow electricians that he knew. In 1995, Ivan founded a permit and inspection agency - IJD INSPECTIONS, which has flourished. Many who know Ivan know him only as "Squeak"; a nickname derived from the numerous bouts of laryngitis as a young man. Ivan leaves to mourn his wife of 54 years, Jean, children; Jim (Heather) of Delburne, AB, Debbi (Ross) of Red Deer, AB, and Dan (Mel) also of Red Deer, AB, grandchildren; Dustin McGillicky (Jamie), Landon McGillicky, Tyler Dobler and Terrin Dobler all of Red Deer. A Celebration of Ivan's Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at "The Clubhouse" in Johnston Park, 11 Jenkins Drive, Red Deer.
