January 26, 1930 - November 20, 2018
It is with deep sadness that the family of Ivy Stang announces her passing on November 20, 2018 at the age of 88 years, after a period of illness, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

At the time of her death she had been living at Villa Marie long term care facility in Red Deer.

Ivy was predeceased by her parents, all of her siblings and her husband Gus.

Ivy was born near Hobbema, Alberta on January 26, 1930 to William and Martha Rentz. She was married to Gus Stang in 1950. Ivy grew up in the Ponoka area. She and Gus moved to the Morningside community where they farmed and raised six children Don (Anne), Al (Pat), Vic (Lois), Sherry (Andy), Darrell (Sue), and Darlene (Tracy). In 1976 they moved to Red Deer. After retirement in 1987 they enjoyed many winters in Phoenix. Time spent with their thirteen grandchildren; and more recently, Ivy's five great grandchildren was a highlight for them. For Ivy and Gus, the passion in their lives was music. Over the years, they entertained family and friends with their brand of "Old Time" music. As well; they played at weddings, dances, parades and senior's facilities in central Alberta.

Ivy will be missed by her family as well as friends and long time acquaintances in the Ponoka and Red Deer Communities.

The family wishes to thank Dr. McCall and Dr. Heathcote as well as Ivy's medical caregivers at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Kentwood Alliance Church (www.kentwoodalliance.ca) in Red Deer on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch and fellowship.

A graveside ceremony for immediate family members will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to either Ronald McDonald House (www.rmhc.org) OR Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter (www.cawes.com).
