COOK Jack 1911 - 2009 Jack Cook of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Valley Park Manor on Monday, July 6th, 2009 at the age of 97 years. Born August 6th, 1911 in Wilcox, SK, Jack was enlisted in WWII and was stationed out of Lethbridge, AB and served in #8 Bomb & Gunnery. He later became a farmer and long time resident of the Donalda area, retiring to Red Deer in 1974. Later in life, Jack was an active member in the Golden Circle and Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed visiting flea markets and travelling. Jack will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his two sons, Bob (Pat) Cook of Red Deer, AB and Grant (Sharon) Cook of Edmonton, AB; son-in-law, Richard Bennett of Sarasoto, FL; brother-in-law, David (Sylvia) Grant of Calgary, AB; five grandchildren, Jamie Bennett, Jennifer Cook, Rachel Cook, Ron Cook and Bob Cook; two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Oliver Bennett as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife, Eleanor Cook; his parents; sister, Dorothy Dey and daughter, Linda Bennett. A Funeral Service for the late Jack Cook will be held on Friday, July 10th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 67 Street, Red Deer) with interment to follow at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, AB. Memorial Tributes may be made in Jack's name to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, (#101, 5208 53rd Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2).
