JACKSON Mr. Edgar Lennie Jackson, husband of Patricia of Innisfail passed away peacefully at home in the presence of family on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the age of 85. Ed was born on March 13, 1922 in Innisfail, AB. He received his schooling in Innisfail and spent three years in the Navy, on active convoy duty. After completing service in the Navy, he received his degree of Pharmacy from the University of Alberta in Edmonton and went on to own and operate Jackson's Drugs, serving the area of Innisfail for 42 years. He was very involved in his community, including service on town council, a member of the school board, involved in Boy Scouts, and a director of the Innisfail Ski Hill. He was active in the Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic fraternity. Ed loved being outdoors, hunting with friends, and he always enjoyed the family farm life. Ed spent many happy times traveling and having adventures with his family. He had a passion for reading and reciting poetry, and his kind and gentle nature was appreciated by many around him. Ed and Bill Peters were very instrumental in establishing the George Kemp House in Innisfail. On December 26, 1952, Ed married the love of his life, Pat Parcels. It was on their 54th Wedding anniversary that a grandchild was born. Together Ed and Pat had six children; Tim (Lynn) of Red Deer, Danna (Bryan) Melnyk of Sylvan Lake, Janice (Heikki) Teiniranta of Hyvinkaa, Finland, Brent (Liana) of Innisfail, Sandy (Fred) Brink of Bentley and Mark (Tanya) of Sundre; 15 loving grandchildren: Sara, Amy, Melanie, Lea, Jonie, Annikki, Minna, Matti, Cailyn, Taylor, Tanner, Luke, Kennedy, Tyler and 1 great grandchild Thomas. Ed was predeceased by his brothers Wes and Jack and is survived by his loving sister Betty as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 2:00pm at the Innisfail Baptist Church on the corner of 52nd Ave and just south of 37th Street, Innisfail. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Clinic at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (P.O. Box 5030, STN Postal Box Ctr, Red Deer, AB.
