July 3, 1963 - May 25, 2020
Jacqueline 'Jackie' McNutt (Malsbury) was born July 3, 1963 in Red Deer, Alberta and passed away on May 25, 2020 in the Rocky Mountain House Hospital at the age of 56 after a short battle with cancer.
She lived on the family farm east of Penhold and attended Innisfail School. After leaving school she lived in Innisfail for a brief time before moving to the Caroline area where she has resided ever since and met her soul mate and husband Rick McNutt.
From an early age Jackie was always very creative. She used to move from room to room leaving a trail of papers, crayons and scissors behind her and as she got older, she turned to painting. Always an animal lover, as a child she had guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs, cats, a pig, a magpie, and some of these assorted critters were even well trained. Horses were important to Jackie and her friend Sue and they often rode bareback, fast and out of control. Jackie always had a smile and always found humor in any situation.
She opened her Westside Liquor Store where she could combine socializing with working and made many good and lasting friends. Farming, camping and the great outdoors were Jackie's passions. She had developed an interest in woodworking, purchased some tools and set up a corner in the shop for her hobby.
She is survived by her husband Rick McNutt; daughter Marie Ross of Rimbey; son Gary (Lacey) Cruickshank and his dad Mitch of Caroline; Step-daughter Korlina (Garred) Huber of Creston; step-granddaughter Jenna (Lea) Spetifore of Creston; step-grandson Kail Huber of Calgary; sisters Joan Schmelke, Faye Malsbury, Marion (Ken) Malsbury, and Marie (David) Matheson; brother Douglas (Darlene) Malsbury; brother-in-laws Bob, Don, and Allan McNutt and their families. She is also survived by two uncles, three aunts, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Jackie is predeceased by her parents Muriel and John Malsbury and In-laws Mary and Ted McNutt.
At Jackie's request no funeral will be held.
