James "Jim" Earle
Feb. 23, 1935 - Aug.23, 2014
Jim was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Jim and Dorothy Johnstone and was raised on a farm at Neilburg, Sask. He started his powerline career with Sask. Power, then joined Calgary Power (TransAlta) in 1958 until his retirement in 1992. Jim married Mary Wilson on July 3, 1959, and settled in Lacombe where they raised their two children. Jim and Mary loved to camp and fish with family and friends during the summer. In the winter they would travel to Yuma, Arizona with the snowbirds. Jim was also an avid Saskatchwan Roughriders fan and never missed a game. Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, two children, Laurie Lund and Brad (Kim) Johnstone of Lacombe; four grandchildren: Deni (Leo Chow) Lund, Nick Lund, Sean Johnstone and Kayleigh Johnstone; two great grandchildren: Kira and Hunter Lund; brothers Rodney (Maureen) Johnstone of Crystal Lake, Sask. and Richard (Ann) Johnstone of Regina Sask. Sisters Jean Wagner of Kindserley, Sask. and Mary (Ed) Lauer of Drayton Valley, AB. As per Jim's wishes there will be no funeral. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Lacombe Palliative Care.
