October 15, 1953 - September 23, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Murphy announces his passing on Sunday September 23, 2018 at the age of 64. Jim was a wonderful man who was loved, will be missed and will always be cherished.

He will forever be remembered by his loving wife Laura, his devoted son Jonathan (Amber) and his precious granddaughter, Mara.

Treasured memories of Jim are also shared by his brother John, niece Patti (Curt) and nephew Kelly, mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Olga Radomski, who loved him like their own son, numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Jim was predeceased by his father E. Franklin Murphy (2015), mother Norma Murphy (2005) and his sister Jean Murphy (2005). Jim was born and raised in Red Deer, and obtained his schooling at LTCHS. For many years Jim was part of the Alberta music scene where he was a talented musician with numerous bands, playing keyboards and using his distinctive vocal skills. Jim travelled with his fellow musicians to play at various venues throughout Canada. He loved music and it was only when his son was born that he went to playing part-time so that he could spend more time with his family, whom he cherished, and still be part of making music. We would like to thank Dr. Shirley Hovan for her care, Dr. Craighead, Dr. Tankel, Nurse Kayla, AHS Elaine and Sarah for being there when we needed them. Also a special thanks to Charge Nurse Tanya in Emerg. At Jim's request, there will be no public funeral service.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name either to the Central Alberta Human Society at 4505 77st, Red Deer, AB T4P 2J1 or the Central Alberta Cancer Center, 3942 50A Ave Red Deer, AB T4N 4E7.

Condolences can be left for the family at www.eventidefuernalchapel.com.
