CORRIGAN, James (Jim) Sinclair

It is with deep sadness that the family of James (Jim) Sinclair Corrigan announce his passing Sunday, March 19 2017.

Jim was a brilliant artist and a very knowledgeable curator. He rode his bike to work every day - even up to a few weeks ago, he loved food and strong coffee. He dearly loved life, his wife and his family and his constant side-kick, Cito the dog. He loved the University of Alberta Museums and felt he had the best job in the world as a curator.

His deep reverence for nature and art will continue to live on through his family, his art and the thousands of works of art that he recommended and helped to acquire for the University Art Collection. He will be remembered for his kindness, his stoic strength and most of all his deep and sincere belly laugh!

Jim was predeceased by his father (Doug Corrigan), nephew (Eric Wilson) and brother-in-law (Jim Spiller). He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, two sons Chris (Coreen) and Jeremy (Erin), his mother Mary Corrigan, Mother-in-Law Ethel Spiller, his sisters Nancy (Terry), Gwen (Robert) and Peggy (Mike), his brothers-in-law Bill (Deb) and Ben (Jo Ann). Jim had numerous nieces, nephews, a grandniece and grandnephews who will also remember Uncle Jim with great fondness.

Jim's family would like to recognize and thank doctors, nurses and medical staff of various medical departments at numerous facilities for their efforts over the last few years. Their care, attention and expertise is greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held Saturday, May 6 2017 at the McKernan Community League Hall. More specific details will be available at a later date.

Donations in memory of Jim may be made to National Parks Canada, to any Humane Society, or to the U of A Museums.
