LIGHTBOWN James Edward "Ed" Lightbown passed away peacefully on September 14, 2006, surrounded by the love of his wife and family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years. He was born March 25, 1918 on the family farm in the Diamond Valley District. Ed is survived by Kit (Biswanger), his loving wife of 67 years; seven children and their spouses: Anne (Ray) Reynolds of Benalto, Ted (Audrey) Lightbown of Red Deer, Marilyn (Bill) Reeser of Sylvan Lake, Ken (Sharon) Lightbown of Spruceview, Allan (Gill) Lightbown of Blackfalds, Glenda (Sten) Rasmussen and Linda (Cal) Hilman of Sylvan Lake; 27 grandchildren & their spouses. 27 great grandchildren and two great great grand- children. Also mourning his loss are two brothers Bud (Janet), and Dave (Pat) of Eckville; one sister Darline Klatt of Red Deer; many nieces and nephews in both Lightbown and Biswanger families; and friends including special family friend, Charles Lindsay. Ed was predeceased by his parents Max and Margaret, one sister Lillian Anderson, son-in-law Alvin Solberg and grandson Trevor Solberg. Interment for the Late "Ed" Lightbown will be held from the Diamond Valley Cemetery on Wednesday September 20, 2006 at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Alliance Community Church 4404 47 Ave. Sylvan Lake at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Kevin Haugan officiating.
