Bob was born in Camrose, AB and was raised in Wetaskawin before moving to Red Deer in 1951 where he joined his father Henry as partner in their General Motors dealership Vellner Motors. Bob was an astute and highly respected businessman throughout his life revelling in identifying and overcoming the various challenges presented by the variety of businesses he was involved in.
