SUMMERS James Kingsford Jim passed away on March 23, 2007, in the Valley Park Nursing Home, Red Deer. He was born in Red Deer on September 7, 1930, the eldest of three sons of the late Claud and Edith Summers of Bentley. Jim is survived by his children, Shauna (Lorne) Rusnell, Scott (Keiko) Summers, Shannon Summers; his grandchildren Leah and Derek Rusnell, Akira and Hotaka Summers; Noreen, mother of his children; two brothers, Ken (Gail) of Kitchener, ON, Garry (Audrey) of Edmonton; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m. at the Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150-67 Street, with the Rev. Don Lewis officiating. The ashes will be interred in the Bentley Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home; Dr. Rigby for his exceptional care over the years; to Vernon Murgatroyd for his friendship, providing Jim with many outings which he enjoyed so much; and to Sharon Braun for her inspiration and encouragement in music. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Valley Park Nursing Home or to the charity of one's choice.
