BRAAKSMA (nee Postmus) Jane Jane went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2009. She was born on August 10, 1922 in the Netherlands and was a nurse and midwife until immigrating to Canada. She married John in 1953 in Lacombe where they farmed until moving west of Ponoka. They continued to live in that area after retirement until 1994 when they moved to the town of Ponoka. Jane was predeceased by John in 1997. Mourning her passing are Jane’s children: Son Sid (Dorothy), Ryan (Danielle) Tanya and Craig. Daughter Grace (Dallas) Christina, Matthew, Monica and Julia. Son Erick (Pat), Mandi (Colton) and great granddaughter Bailey, Jenni, Erica, Kenton and Kyle. As well as her sister Saapke Kingma and brother Willem Postmus in the Netherlands, and many friends. A service will be held at Parkland Reformed Church (south of Ponoka on Spruce Rd. off Hwy 2A) on Saturday April 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mitch Ramkissoon officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rehoboth Christian Center, 3920 49 Ave, Stony Plain Alberta, T7Z 2J7.
