SALOMONS Janet On March 31, 2009, the Lord took home our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Janet Salomons at the age of 75 years. Janet was born in 1934 in Redlands, California. After receiving her nursing license from the College of Nursing in San Bernadino Valley, California, she worked for several years. She moved to New Mexico to work at the Rehoboth Mission Hospital for 6 years before leaving to get married. On November 16, 1962 she married Sam Salomons and together they raised their family of 4 children on their farm across from the Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church, Lacombe. Janet volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, a Gems counselor and the church's organist. Once the children were school age, she also volunteered in the Lacombe Christian School library. She returned to work for several years as a unit secretary at the Red Deer Hospital. Janet is survived by her loving husband Sam, and her children: Joline (John) Huisman of Leduc, Edna (Harmen) Walterlander of Dublin,Texas, and Tony (Liz) Salomons of Calgary, her brother John (Micky)Boogman of Boise, Idaho and her seven grandchildren as well as extended family members. She was predeceased by her son Edward on March 19, 1993. A Celebration of Jane's life will be held from the Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church, Lacombe on Thursday, April 09, 2009 at 1:30 PM.
