Jean Dowson (Macrae)
of Eckville passed away peacefully on November 29, 2009 at the age of 87. Jean will be lovingly remembered by Jennifer Stopsen and her husband Robert Dagenais of St. Albert, Beverly and Stuart Reynolds of Eckville, Jean’s five "grans" Jessica Breen (Mike), Mitchell and Jolanta and James Breen, Matthew Breen (XinYin) all of Edmonton, Alberta, Rebecca Reynolds (Kurt) of Whitehorse and Adam Reynolds (Amanda) of Red Deer, Alberta. Jean will also be remembered by her brother Don and sister-in-law Jane Macrae of Eckville, her nephews and nieces Dave and Deb Macrae of Eckville, Barb and Ken Schooler of Rocky Mountain House, Pat and Les Anderson, Merle Stopsen and Jean and Peter Gibbons all of Red Deer, Alberta and their children. Jean was predeceased by her infant son, Donald Lloyd in June 1946, her father Donald Macrae Sr. in March 1976, her mother May Macrae in August 1992 and her husband Edward Stopsen in November, 1995. Funeral Service for the late Jean Stopsen will be held at the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Eckville, on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra Franklin-Law officiating. With Interment to follow in the Eckville cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, The Eckville Manor Charitable Society, Albert Lung Association or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 156, Eckville, Alberta and or a charity of one's choice.
