Jean Elizabeth Ferguson (nee Fender) passed away peacefully on Aug 10, 2014 at the age of 81. Jean was born in Bonnyville on February 2, 1933 to Cliff and Beryl Fender. She is survived by her 3 sons, Doug (Pam) and their boys Scott and Luke, Barry (Cheryl) and their daughter Teresa (Graham) Hunt, and Brian; her brother Don (Cheryl) Fender, several nieces and nephews as well as two great grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her sister Doris Fender in 2006 and her husband Al in 2007. In 1953 after graduating college she took on a job in a Finance and Insurance office in Edmonton where she met Al Ferguson. They were married on Feb 6, 1954 and started a family in Red Deer. In 1970 they started their own insurance agency, Ferguson Insurance Services. They retired shortly after moving to a farm west of Red Deer near Markerville in 1976, where they threw many great parties and anniversaries for family and friends. Featured were at least one wedding as well as the famous annual 'Half Way to New Years' on the July long weekend. In 1988 Jean and Al moved back to Red Deer and spent many more years entertaining friends and family in their home.
