OASTROM (Beno) Jean Sarah It is with heavy hearts; the family of Jean Sarah Oastrom announce her passing on Saturday March 14th 2009 at the age of 78. Survived by daughters (Bunny) Lesley (Gary) Furuness and Lynn Phillips (Lionel Hibbard); two grandchildren, Major Don (Cheryl) Furuness of Kingston Ontario and their children Kris and Rachael; and Shelley (Arly) Dreger of Millet and their sons Dylan and Nathan. Jean is also survived by sister Phyllis (Ken) Popp of Red Deer, brother Leslie (Margaret) Beno of Armstrong B.C.; sisters-in-law Hilda Oastrom of Withrow, Joan (Ed) Kiprick of Lethbridge, and Lily James (Vern Badke) of Edmonton;aunt Nellie Moore of Ridgewood, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Also survived by special pets Snooky, Buddy, and Miss Priss. Predeceased by husband Don Oastrom, parents Norman and Mae Beno, sister Joyce Hayball, Mother-in-law Elizabeth Oastrom, sister-in-law Frieda Elson and brothers-in-law Bud Hayball, Oiva Elson, Alfred and Ernie Oastrom, and longtime companion Guido D'Amico. As per Jean's request there will be no services. Private internment at a later date. Donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the ROAR Society of Rocky Mountain House.
