WITTMACK Jean Scott Wittmack. In the presence of loving family, Jean Wittmack passed away peacefully at Wentworth Manor in Calgary on June 30th, 2005. Jean was born in Wood Bay, Manitoba on May 2, 1916 and moved at a young age to a farm near Altario, Alberta. She attended Normal School in Edmonton and was a dedicated and much loved school teacher in Alberta for over 30 years. In 1946 she married Ernest Wittmack in Monitor, Alberta. Jean and Ernie farmed in Consort and Big Valley before moving to Red Deer in 1966. Jean’s life was extraordinary beyond measure. She was completely committed to family, to her innumerable and precious friends and to her community. Her devotion to volunteer activities was remarkable and widely acknowledged. Jean is survived by her children and their spouses, Brian & Linda, Brenda, Bev & Bob, Bruce & Robin and her special son Calvin. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly & Dave, Kristine & Brent, Danny, Jillian, Nicole, Robert and Keaton and her much beloved great- granddaughter Emily, her brothers Don, Charlie and Bob and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ernie, her cherished son-in-law Mort, her brother Jim and her sisters Elizabeth and Dorothy. The family appreciates all the love and care shown to Jean by the staff of Wentworth Manor – The Court. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Camp He-Ho-Ha (Health, Hope & Happiness) [ P.O. Box 182, Seba Beach, Alberta, T0E 2B0], or the charity of your choice. A celebration of Jean’s life will take place at Gaetz Memorial United Church (4758 Ross Street, Red Deer, AB) on Tuesday, July 5th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Interment and reception to follow.
