GORDON Jennie Gordon of Lacombe passed away at the Lacombe Nursing Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the age of 97 years. Jennie (the eldest of 5 children) was born September 3, 1907 in Rockford, Iowa to Harry and Annie Magilton. The family moved to Lacombe in 1913 and settled in the Mountain Grove district. It was here she met and married her true love Mr. Bill Gordon. They raised their family of 3 girls and 2 boys on the farm in the Blackfalds and Spring Valley districts. She will be remembered as a kind friend, a hard worker, and a good neighbour. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in September 1961, a granddaughter in 1952, and her 4 siblings, Sam (1971), William (1979), Isabel (1996), and Henry (2005). She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her children, Jean (Fred) Binning of Lacombe, Audrey (Bert) McKay of Blackfalds, Pat (George) Petry of Calgary, Allan (Judy) Gordon and Murray (Carrol) Gordon of Lacombe, as well as 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, any many friends. The family wish to express a sincere "thank you" to the care givers at the nursing home for the wonderful care and attention given to our Mother during her 3 ½ years in the long term care facility. Friends are invited to join the family for viewing on Saturday, June 4, 2005 from 12-1 p.m. at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe followed by the Committal Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Lacombe Fairview Cemetery. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, Lacombe. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Unit 1 Extended Care Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, 5430-47 Ave, Lacombe, AB T4L 1G8, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
