1928-2022  ~  Mrs. Jennie Julia Psikla of Red Deer Alberta passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 93 years.
Jennie was born in Strongfield, Saskatchewan and later moved to Alberta, where she met her soulmate, Joe who she married in 1949.
They worked on the family farm until they retired to Red Deer in 1991.
Jennie loved music and played in a family band with her husband, sister, and two brothers-in-law. They entertained generations of people in the community, playing old time music for many wedding dances and social functions for over fifty years.
She was employed by West Country Family Services, as a Homecare Aide for over ten years in the Eckville Area. Jennie volunteered for the Catholic Women's League both in Sylvan Lake and Red Deer. She loved the Lord and always put her family and friends ahead of her own needs or desires.
Jennie will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Jennie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ronald (Val) of Red Deer, Gerald (Linda) of Eckville, Joan (Jack Carroll) of Valleyview, Robert (Darlene) of Eckville, and Loretta (Loren Bilinski) of Red Deer; her thirteen grandchildren and her fourteen great grandchildren.
She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Josie Liska and her brother, Edward Trautman; as well as numerous extended family members.
Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Joe in 2015, her parents, Frank and Mary Trautman, her brothers, Carl and Frank and a sister, Delores.
A Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Red Deer, Alberta.
