Jenson

December 4, 2008

Jenson Norman Stanley Norman Stanley Jensen of Innisfail passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Norm was born into a pioneer family in the Raven District. He participated fully in home life, school and activities such as camping, hunting and fishing in his beloved west country. He loved participating in sports such as baseball and competitive target shooting. As with many of his generation his career was largely shaped by the depression and war. Norm was a self sufficient man who worked at construction, farming and the automotive industry. He joined the RCAF during WW II. He worked as a partsman in the family enterprise of Innisfail Motors. Following this he worked for many years with Melchin Car Transport. He then went farming in the Raven District on Jensen family land. He ended his working career with a stint of automotive sales with cousin Dwayne Lundgren in Innisfail. His retirement was centered around participation with wife Marie in Holiday Ranch activities (Kevisville) and annual trips to Arizona. He enjoyed music, dancing, hunting, fishing, fastball at Kevisville and sports on television. He treasured daily coffee at the A & W with sister Marie once he moved to Innisfail to allow his heart some rest and care. He will be missed by his wife Marie Jensen of Innisfail, Marie’s children Yvonne, Kent and Beverly; sisters Marie (Earl) Purcell of Innisfail and Helen (Kurt) Crossfield of Kamloops and numerous nieces, nephews and their offspring. Norm is predeceased by his mother Gerda (Lundgren) and father Trider (Ted) Jensen, brothers and sisters in law Howard & Jean Jensen and Ernie & Vicki Jensen. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Metcalf Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 5, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Kevisville Community Church with Pastor Bud Sargent officiating.
