Joan Goodbun of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the age of 90 years.

Joan was a twin with her brother Obbie and was born in Nanaimo, BC where she spent her early years. She loved the water and had fond memories of a carefree childhood at the ocean.

Joan was a kind, giving woman who volunteered her time at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in the gift shop. Before retirement, she was a secretary and enjoyed her work at the Red Deer School District. She also took time to volunteer at local nursing homes calling Bingo and spending time with the elderly. She loved to knit and make beautiful blankets. She and Archie grew their family east of Red Deer on a lovely acreage with dogs, cats and horses. Joan and Archie were members of St. Luke's and St. Leonard's Anglican Churches. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, walking with neighbors and coffee with friends.

Joan is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Archie; who she met and married in Calgary, Alberta. She is also survived by her two daughters, Jane Forgay and Nancy (Brian) Hooge, son-in-law Bill Forgay. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Obbie and Ken and her sister Marjie. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Allison (Charles) Gray, Kimberly Forgay, Emily Hooge, Matt Hooge and great-grandchild Coltan Gray.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Alto Reste Cemetery in Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences may be forwarded through www. McInnisandHolloway.com. The family is grateful to the many people who cared for Joan at Brentwood Care Centre and The Lodge at Valley Ridge.
