Joanne Kathleen

On January 18, 2014,surrounded by her loved ones, Joanne Moore was welcomed into the arms of her heavenly family. Joanne was born July 29, 1939 in Shaunavon, SK, where she resided until age 12. Along with her family, she relocated to Meadow Lake, SK, and eventually settled in Red Deer where she completed high school and business school. She met and married the love of her life, Richard Moore, and they spent many happy years traveling and raising their three children. Joanne was an active member of the ladies league at Balmoral golf club for many years and was modestly proud of her "hole in one". Of all of her accomplishments, Joanne's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. Joanne's life revolved around loving her family and her home was a gathering place for her children and grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, kind words and ready smile warmed the hearts of all who knew her. She touched the lives of many people with her selflessness, brilliant smile and generosity. Her gift of love lives on in her children and grandchildren, and she leaves them with the knowledge that they were truly loved. Joanne is survived by son Fred (Carla); daughter Tracey (Darren); daughter-in-law Marni (Dale); and her adored grandchildren Tiara (Steve), Delaney, Kolson, Jacqueline (Stephen), Alanna, Michael, and Meghan (Kris). Also cherishing her memory are her companion Vince Martinoski and his children Keith (Karen), Leah and Elise; Gale (Ernie) and Darryl. She will be greatly missed by her sister Florence Smith; her brother Ron Menard (Helen); her sisters-in-law June Menard and Ruth Moore; brother-in-law Danny Moore (Isabelle), as well as her nieces, nephews and many friends. Joanne was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1989, son Randy in 1998, brother Doug in 1988, brother Abbie in 2002 and her parents Elizabeth and Vic Menard. A Celebration of Joanne's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Alto Reste Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne's name may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6.
