It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Baird. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Ken (Barb); children, Penny (Terry), John, Gordon (Jan), Terry (George), Linda (Jim), Yvonne (Jim), Doug, Wendy (Chris), Lloyd (Annie); 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as other family and friends. John was predeceased by his first wife, Doris; second wife, Dorothy; parents, William and Ella; brothers, Bill, Cecil and Bob; grandson, Ivan. A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Extendicare Michener Hill, 12 Michener Boulevard, Red Deer followed by a time of remembrance at Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer. The family would like to thank Dr. Colin Holmes, the caregivers and nurses on house 3800 at Extendicare Michener Hill, and the caregivers who cared for John in his own home.
