John "Marshal" Williams of Trochu, Alberta passed away February 4, 2010 at the age of 94 years old. Marshall was born on January 3, 1916 in Trochu, Alberta to Bart and Mazy Williams. Marshall was predeceased by his parents, uncle Dan Williams, sister-in law Delia (Emil) Baumgardt, brother-in-laws Jack (Elsie) Buchert, Ed (Dorothy) Buchert, Arthur (Martha) Peters, Roy (Emma) Snooke, Bill (Eileen) Hammel, Howard (Edna) Maxwell, ex-sister-in law Bertha Mottern and cousin Wesley Williams of Kansas. Marshall lived his entire life on the family farm 10 miles west of Trochu. Marshall attended Paulson grade school and Trochu High School. In his younger years he helped his dad and Uncle Dan on the farm. For awhile he went trucking tamarack. Later Marshall returned to farming and started up Marshall Williams Construction Ltd. He spent many hours on location watching his "cats". In later years, he semi-retired, sold his "cats" and bought a motor home to spend some time camping with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rosie Williams (Buchert); two children, Dianne (Jerry) Gorr and Bruce (Melody) Williams; five grandchildren, Tracey (Barry Robertson) Gorr, Brian (Barb) Gorr, Chad Williams, Cody Williams, Desaray Williams; eight great grandchildren, Ashley Gorr, Chelsey Gorr, Gage Warram, Destiny Williams, Tatum Williams, Tanner Williams, Zachary Robertson and Jacob Robertson, cousin; Lorri (Kathy) Williams; sister-in-laws, Elsie Buchert, Emma (Roy) Snooke, Dorothy Buchert, Martha Peters, Edna (Howard) Maxwell, Eileen (Bill) Hammel; nieces and nephews, Lori (Kathy) Williams, Rose- Marie (Art) Schneider), Lorraine (Ronald) Corsiatto, Lawrence Buchert, Shirley (Ron) Sanderson, Ron (Rita) Buchert, Terry Buchert, Shelly (Bill) Fibish, Ken Snooke, Irene(Ted) Inglis, Lavern (Brenda)Buchert, Sheila Buchert, Clifford (Arlene ) Baumgardt, Marvin (Marion) Baumgardt, Wayne (Darlene) Baumgardt, Patsy Baumgardt, Clarence (Patricia) Peters, Bob Peters, Myrtle (Harry) Bentz, John (Ruth) McCaw, Betty (Ted) O'Bray, Donald Hammel; great nieces & nephews, Lisa Buchert, Craig Buchert, Christopher Fibish, Sherri Inglis, Ardith Baumgardt, Dale (Wendy) Baumgardt, Terry Baumgart, Sandra Baumgardt, Doug Peters, Duncan (Brenda) Peters, Debbie (Mark) Wilson, Tammy Boake, Cindy Klassen, Marty O'Bray, Darcy O'Bray, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Marshall may have came from a small family but he married into a large family which was a good this because he loved his family. Marshall loved family so much that every hired farmhand, catskinner or mechanic that came along he treated as family. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Trochu Community Center with Reverend Pat Dyson officiating.
