MILLER, JOHN John (Jack) Duncan Miller of Rosefield Centre, formerly of Markerville, AB passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the age of 82 years. Jack was born on May 1, 1922 on the family farm in Okotoks, AB. Jack was the oldest of six children. He was educated at Allan School and Okotoks High School. Jack served in the Air Force in Coal Harbour B.C. and there he met and later married his wife Dorothy of 53 years. Jack and Dorothy farmed in the Okotoks area where Janice and Jeffery were born and in 1960 the family moved to Markerville. Jack enjoyed hockey, curling, carpet bowling and playing cribbage. He was involved in the Craig Community Activities, construction of Dickson Arena and Spruce View Drop In Center. Jack is survived by daughter Janice (Terry) Long and their children Sarah, Rebecca and Cody; son Jeffrey (Marianne) Miller and their children Ken (Tara) Miller, Karen (Daryl) Hronek and their son Deion. He is also survived by brother Bob (Pauline) Miller of Okotoks and family, sister Edna Rothenberger of Winnipeg and family, sister-in-law Marge Miller of Calgary and family; brother-in-law Dick Day and family of London Ont., sister-in-law Betty Chalmers and family of Vancouver, B.C. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, brothers Jim, Bruce, and Edward, mother Addie, father Ervie, and stepfather Ken Gaunce. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Metcalf Funeral Chapel on December 29 from 7 to 8 pm. If Friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Rosefield Centre,

St. Mark's Anglican Church, or to the Golden West Drop In Centre. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Innisfail on Dec. 30, 2004 at 1:00pm with Lavinia West officiating. Interment to follow in the Field of Honor at the Innisfail Cemetery.
