John OUDMAN

OUDMAN John Psalm 100:4a "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise" John Oudman was called to his eternal home by our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 29, 2008. He was born on February 1, 1922 at Kantens in The Netherlands. He came to Canada on March 22, 1948 and was united in marriage to Annette Lugtenborg on October 20, 1948 at the Woodynook Christian Reformed Church. They lived in the Innisfail area where they worked on the Fogelvik Farms. In 1952 they moved to Taber to join the rest of John’s family in operating a mixed irrigation farm. In July 1963, John and Annette and their seven children moved east of Lacombe where they actively farmed until they retired to Lacombe in 1983. John was predeceased by his wife Annette on February 4, 2000. John will be lovingly remembered as a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather by: Jack and Ann Oudman of Lacombe and their children Brian, Karen and Dale Hofstra, and Michael; Margaret and Jim te Velde of Leduc and their children John and Jaime te Velde (Rebecca and Luke), Roger, and Heather and Greg Luchak; Pauline and Ray Prins of Lacombe and their children Julia and Trevor Vanderveen (Gideon), Mark, Wayne and Renee Prins, and Lorne; Clarence and Patty Oudman of De Motte, Indiana and their children Tim and Heather Oudman (Kyle, Tristan, Colton, Kamea), Julie and Dan Perkins (Harper), and Rebekah; Howard and Freda Oudman of Leduc; Teresa and Ron Gyori of Rimbey and their children Crystal and Ahmed Osman, Angela, Lisa and Steve Mann (Dylan), Rachelle and Bryan Fiebich, and Nicole; and Gordon and Maureen Oudman of Pender Island, BC and their daughter Anna. John is also survived by his brother Homer (Betty), his sisters Hilda Zuidhof, Maria Smith, Corrie (Stanley) Kimm, Tina (Tim) Bouwsema, Pearl (Dick) Alting, sister-in-law Lenie Oudman, brother-in-law Albert Donkerbroek, numerous other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Arie, his sisters Jennie Koning and Coby Donkerbroek, and his brothers-in-law John Koning, Bill Zuidhof and Walter Smith. We thank Allan Castillo for his exceptional love and care for Dad over the past year. The family has been truly blessed with Allan and we thank him for his excellent care of Dad. A celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 5704-51 Avenue, Lacombe.
