1934-2020 ~ John Shuya of Airdrie, AB, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020, at 86 years.
Mourning his loss are his two sons; Robert (Sandra) Shuya and children Mason (Eugenia), Justin and Alyson Shuya of El Paso, Texas, and his son Dale (Melanie) and Jake Shuya of Airdrie, AB. He also leaves the mother of his children, Darlene Shuya.
Surviving siblings are brother Harry (Anne) Shuya and sisters Stephanie Karakochuk, Emily Shuya and Jeanne (Jim) Horban, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives.
Three brothers Bill, Sam, and Joe Shuya are deceased, and five sisters: Pauline Sheptak, Tena Rieger, Helen Paley, Sylvia Woloshyn, and Mary Ashley, have passed away.
Memorial donations, in John's name, may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, or charity of one's choice.
Viewing will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel at 4820-45 St Red Deer, Alberta, on Tuesday, December 7th, 4 pm- 7 pm.
Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at 1515-100 St S. E. Calgary, Alberta Wednesday, December 8th at 1 pm.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
