John William Taylor February 26, 1935 - May 13, 2009 John was born in Wayne, Alberta to Fred and Clarise Taylor. He took some schooling in Calgary, but at age 15, decided that hustling pool was more profitable than learning the ABC's. He did however apprentice in painting and became a journeyman painter, which in 1968, landed him a job at PMH, Ponoka. He met his future wife on November 26, 1955, on a blind date no less! They were married on April 26, 1957. He loved baseball, coached little league, and was involved with the Rancher Inn Raiders. But in 1983 he had a stroke and this plagued him until his passing. His buddies at Tim Horton's will miss him at the Thursday night meetings to, I’m sure, try and save the world. John leaves to mourn his wife, Peggy, daughter, Maureen Akins, sons, Dale (Chele), Kevin (Mandy) and Fred (Rose). grandchildren, Natasha and Samuel Akins, Meghan and Ashleig Taylor. Amylee, Cory and Nathan, Joshua and Christa Taylor and greag grandson, Evan. John was predeceased by his son, Darrell, parents, Fred and Clarise, brother, Fred (Buster), sisters, Cecelia and Carol. He is survived by sister, Virginia and brothers, Gordon and Bob, plus numerous nieces and nephews. If friends desire donations may be made to: Tim Horton Children's Foundation.
