BAST Joseph Donatus Anthony It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Joseph Bast on Saturday, April 25th, 2009 in Red Deer, AB the age of 91 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Clara; daughters: Joann (Brian) Yaworski, Donna (Dave) Broshko, Karen (Blair) Goranson; son, Tom (Siobhan) Bast. Joe's memory will be cherished by his twelve grandchildren: Blair and Jodi Yaworski, Siobel, Gabe, Mairead, and Luke Bast, Kari, and Claire Broshko, Gina, John, Jack, and Jill Goranson, as well as one great grandson Ryker. Joe is also survived by his loving sister, Clara Cranston. Joe was predeceased by his parents: Rochus and Christina, son Clifford, grandson Scott Broshko, sisters: Sister Phillipia, Sister Elizabeth, Sister Celestine, Sister Anna Mary, and Flora Bast, as well as his brothers: John and Peter Paul Bast. A Prayer Service for the late Joseph A. Bast will be held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, #6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass for the late Joseph A. Bast will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Red Deer, AB with Father Greg Coupal Celebrant. Interment to follow at Alto~Reste Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to the "Joe Bast - Memorial Scholarship", c/o Notre Dame High School, 50 Lees Street, Red Deer, AB T4R 2P6. In living memory of Joseph A. Bast, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park in the Red Deer County, AB.
