Mrs. Josie Grace Karhoffer passed away on December 12, 2017 at the Rocky Mountain House Health Care Centre at the age of 91 years.

She was born in Condor, Alberta on April 8, 1926 to Jensine and Gustav Moger.

She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Frank and four brothers: Melvin (died in infancy), Melvin, Arnold and Harold.

She is survived by two daughters, Tina (Kevin) Shippelt and Wendy Karhoffer as well as several nieces and nephews.

Josie worked as a camp cook with the Department of Highways for four summers, but then found her calling caring for others at the hospitals in Rocky Mountain House, Eckville and Red Deer.

Later in life she went on to complete her education at the Red Deer College Preparatory Program and Reeves Business College, earning a diploma in General Office Training.

Josie had a great love of animals, especially her 'grandcats' at the farm and Tessa the therapy dog at Westview Lodge, where she lived for over seven years. She enjoyed bowling, puzzles, shuffleboard and participating in Lodge outings and entertainment.

She will be remembered for her warm smile and helping hand whenever there was a need.

A memorial service for Mrs. Josie Karhoffer will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home 4804 - 48 Street, Rocky Mountain House, on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:30 AM. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House.
