BOURK Joyce 1932 - 2008 Joyce Bourk, beloved wife of Bud Bourk of Arbutus Ridge, British Columbia, passed away after a stoic battle with cancer at the Red Deer Hospice Society on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the age of 75 years. Joyce was born on June 8, 1932 at Alhambra, Alberta to Ira Lee and Ruby Miller. She grew up in the Red Deer area where she was married to Lawrence Gillespie for 26 years and together raised their three children. Joyce and Bud retired to Vancouver Island where they were married and spent over 30 years together. She loved sports, especially golf, knitting, playing cards and her favorite flower, the rose. Joyce and Bud filled many days fishing, traveling and spending some winters in Arizona. She will always be remembered as a kind person who made friends easily. Joyce will be missed but leaves a legacy of fond memories and everlasting love. She is survived by her husband, Bud Bourk, her three children, Brent (Jean) Gillespie, Brenda (Reg) Kinch , Dean (Rose) Gillespie, seven grandchildren, Mandy, Matt (Raeanne), Riley, Ryan (Jacey), Garrett (Holly), Terence, Krystal and three great grandchildren, Dylan, Emily and Zoey. Joyce is also survived by Bud's three children, Russ (Lindsey) Bourk, Susan Pobihushchy, Debbie (Michael) Kelly, his two grandchildren, Tara and Zane. Joyce is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Donlevy, Judy Fitch, a brother, Dick (Edna) Miller and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers, Truman, Howard, Dusty and Keith. A Memorial Service will be held at Eventide funeral Chapels, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium.
