PIEBIAK

Joyce Eileen

Apr. 29, 1947 – Oct. 18, 2014

Joyce went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at the age of 67. She is survived by her daughter Carla Johnston, who she often referred to as her “Ray of sunshine”. Joyce was born in Regina, Sask., where she also eventually married her first husband Barry Johnston. They moved to Blackfalds Alberta, where their daughter Carla was born. Joyce was predeceased by Barry in 1974. She later married Stan Piebiak, becoming step mother to his two sons, Mike and Daryl. Stan passed away in 2008. After Joyce’s liver transplant in 2004, she received a new lease on life, which led to greater involvement in her church, Wolf Creek Community Church in Lacombe. She especially loved caring for the little children. She also made many new friends through her swimming at the pool, and loved lunching with the ladies. She will be missed by her many friends, remaining family, and her dog Annie. Memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held at Wolf Creek Community Church 4110 Highway 12, Lacombe, AB on Monday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Joyce would prefer that you make a donation to your local SPCA.
